This booklet is an information first, grammar second approach to adult learning. It is designed to start interesting conversations about art for students and can be used by educators in a variety of ways. For example, it can be done as a tour and read while physically in front of the artwork. It can also be used as a reading comprehension task or a grammar exercise. It is a flexible teaching tool that can be used in a variety of ways and be tailored to the needs of your students.

Reading comprehension questions and free response questions accompany this booklet that can be printed and given as handouts to students or used as discussion tools. Each artwork has one accompanying worksheet, that has three components. The first is a “before you read” where students are asked to think or reflect on something relating to the artwork for the worksheet. The second is a “while you read” section that contains reading comprehension questions. The third is an “after you read” section where a more abstract or discussion-based question is asked.
